셀트리온 측은 요즘 하루 평균 확진자가 8000명대인 것을 고려해, 이 가운데 약 40%(약 900명)에 렉키로나를 투여된다고 가정하면, 하루 중병자 생성 숫자를 79명까지 줄일 수 있어 의료 부담에 숨통이 트인다고 보고 있을 것이다. 셀트리온 지인은 “렉키로나 제공 강화가 위중증 이환 감소에 큰 힘이 될 것으로 기대한다”며 “렉키로나가 COVID-19 치유에 적극 이용될 수 있도록 공급에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
