IPFS, or the InterPlanetary File System, is a peer-to-peer protocol that turns the web into something more like a giant, shared hard drive. Instead of having files served from one specific location, IPFS lets you find and share content based on what it is, not where it lives. This makes it much harder for anyone to censor or take down information, and it works even offline, which is a huge deal for the future of a free, resilient internet.
